Shopping In Kolkata City Mall & Forum Mall : Sophistication At Its Best!

It is been long since my family had an awesome vacation with me. Since, my business steals all my time, I found it difficult to juggle between my family life and business commitments. This time, I made sure to allocate more time for my family so that they don’t get disappointed with me. Kolkata was always there in my wish list since I always enjoyed exploring historical places around India. I have a huge history book collection and have read many glories about Indian history. My niece was getting married in Kolkata and I felt this was the right time to visit this historic city.

Since I was a frequent flyer in one of the first class flights, I got discounts for my family members and even rebates for staying in one of the luxurious star hotels. I booked my rooms in a star hotel and I travelled to Kolkata along with my family. I could definitely see the charm and culture of the city in every nook and corner. The buzzing streets, street food and road-side dhabba make this a vibrant city. We hired a taxi and reached the hotel premises. Since, we had a day more for my niece’s wedding we decided to spend the day by shopping in the big mall in Kolkata.

First we went to the City Mall and had a sumptuous lunch in of the local cuisines. The city mall was quite huge and beautifully decorated with fancy lights and costly furniture. Then, we spent most of our time in buying clothes for myself and my kids. My wife enjoyed every bit of it and grabbed few wonderful Kolkata cotton sarees. We also bought few gifts for my brother’s family and their relatives. We visited another mall called the Forum Mall which is one of the largest shopping complexes in Kolkata. We went for a wonderful Bollywood family entertainer movie and went back to the hotel after an exciting outing!

"Hi there, my name is Lalit Chandran. I currently reside in ‘Pink city’ i.e. Jaipur where I run a garment export business. Having spent all my childhood in Rajasthan, I fell in love with Indian history and all its glory. So, whenever I get an opportunity, I travel to various places all across India exploring old cities, museums, forts and historic monuments. This blog will catalogue all the places I have visited, people I have met along the way and different cultures I got a chance to experience.

I am hoping sharing all my adventures will help raise awareness about our ancient heritage and maybe help preserve and protect these remnants  of India’s glorious past. Feel free to leave your comments. "
