Kalighat Kali Temple Kolkata : The Epitome Of Spirituality!

After the strenuous audit at my office, I wanted to take a break from materialistic life and plan a trip with my family. I always like exploring historical places around India and visit scenic places. But this time, apart from visiting ancient cities, I wanted my trip to be filled with spiritual energy which I consider to be the driving force of my life. This time I planned my tour to a place with a perfect blend of culture, history and spirituality. I discussed with my wife about the plan and she was happy to join the trip since she always wanted to visit holy places. The culture/history lover in me was fascination for the city of Kolkata, a place rich in history and culture.

Since my wife has never travelled in first class flights, I booked the tickets in one of the finest airlines. A week later, we packed our things and boarded the flight. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious travel and reached Kolkata with ease. We arranged a cab and reached the hotel premises where I had booked the rooms in prior. According to my plan, our first visit was to Kalighat Kali Temple Kolkata. Since, the temple is open only from 5 pm we took a small nap and went for a small walk around the luxurious star hotel.

This temple is located at the banks of a narrow canal called Adi Ganga. This temple is of the 51 Shakti Peethas and we were so blessed to get a glimpse. We hired a taxi and reached the temple at 4 PM. We waited in queue for the temple doors to open and to soak in her motherly love. We had a delightful darshan of Kali ma during the Sandya Arti and felt very much sanctified to seek her blessings. We sat in meditation and relaxation in the temple premises and left the temple with full contentment and bliss. I and my wife definitely know that our trip as well as our life would be filled with happiness with the blessings of Kali Ma!

So, whenever I get an opportunity, I travel to various places all across India exploring old cities, museums, forts and historic monuments. This blog will catalogue all the places I have visited, people I have met along the way and different cultures I got a chance to experience.

I am hoping sharing all my adventures will help raise awareness about our ancient heritage and maybe help preserve and protect these remnants  of India’s glorious past. Feel free to leave your comments. "
