Rani Sipri’s Mosque : Visit Heaven On Earth!

I am a forty year old male who works in a Garment export business. Sometimes my work can prove to be very demanding and stressful land at times like this I keep myself going with thoughts of a relaxing holiday. So last year when at least it was vacation time came I planned an elaborate and luxurious retreat to Ahmedabad. I had never been to Gujarat before and so it was an odd feeling to be travelling there. I booked myself a first class seat on a train from Jaipur to Ahmedabad and this gave me a great view of the fields of Gujarat from the comfort of my seat.

I have a great passion for exploring new destinations and their historical sites. During my train journey I familiarised myself with Ahmedabad and all of its glories. There were so many historical monuments and forts in the city that I had to see and at the top of my list was the Rani Sipri mosque! As soon as I reached Ahmedabad I went to the mosque. The mosque was so well made in honour of the Hindu Queen Rani Sipri that I almost didn’t realise how long I had spent just standing there admiring its beauty!

My head was spinning in circles after the very first day. There was so much to see in the city! On the second day I decided to take a break and just stay in at the hotel. I signed up for a massage at the hotel’s spa and even meditated for a while at its Yoga centre. The process was cleansing and just what I was looking for in this holiday. In the night I decided to dine at the hotel’s in-house restaurant that is renowned for serving some of the best delicacies from the local cuisine. I could taste heaven in every bite I took and it was a feeling I don’t want to ever forget! So I will be sure to be returning to Ahmedabad soon!

So, whenever I get an opportunity, I travel to various places all across India exploring old cities, museums, forts and historic monuments. This blog will catalogue all the places I have visited, people I have met along the way and different cultures I got a chance to experience.

I am hoping sharing all my adventures will help raise awareness about our ancient heritage and maybe help preserve and protect these remnants  of India’s glorious past. Feel free to leave your comments. "
