Find Peace And Tranquillity At The Akshardham Temple!

My name is Lalit Chandran and as a forty year old male with a garment export business I had managed to save quite a bit of money for my holiday. I looked high and low for the perfect holiday destination and I finally settled on Gujarat and its historically rich cities. I booked a first class ticket on a Jet Airways flight from Jaipur to Ahmedabad. The seats were comfortable with ample leg space and so I reached Ahmedabad a relaxed man! I was received at the airport by the hotel’s chauffeured car and whisked away to my suite where I was to stay for the remainder of my vacation.

The first thing that I did was find a book store in the city and grab a  few history and travel books that will help me decide on the best sights to see in the city. From these history books I learned of Ahmedabad’s history and the culture of its people. I love visiting historical places all over India and so when I came to Ahmedabad I just could not leave without visiting its famous forts and museums. At the top of my list was the famous Akshardham temple.  This revered temple had always been close to everyone’s heart and when I visited it I found myself feeling calm and relaxed. Just spending a little while meditating at the temple transformed my mood for the better!

At the end of every day I would return to the hotel a changed man. I was always greeted by the hospitable staff with a delicious meal with the best dishes from the local cuisine that the hotel’s talented chef would plate up. The food was so delicious that I was caught licking my lips more than once! And when at the end it was time to return home I found myself planning another vacation here and this one was to be longer than the last!

"Hi there, my name is Lalit Chandran. I currently reside in ‘Pink city’ i.e. Jaipur where I run a garment export business. Having spent all my childhood in Rajasthan, I fell in love with Indian history and all its glory. So, whenever I get an opportunity, I travel to various places all across India exploring old cities, museums, forts and historic monuments. This blog will catalogue all the places I have visited, people I have met along the way and different cultures I got a chance to experience.

I am hoping sharing all my adventures will help raise awareness about our ancient heritage and maybe help preserve and protect these remnants  of India’s glorious past. Feel free to leave your comments. "
