Neemrana Fort : Holiday Like A King!

I have always had a great passion for travelling and I try to dig deep into our country’s historical roots as far as I can. Understanding the different cultures in India has been my sole aim and it has taken me all across the country. And when I focussed on destinations closer to my hometown Jaipur I found so much more then I had anticipated. Rajasthan turned out to be much more than what the history books defined it to be. My trip started with a first class train travel to Alwar. I had booked a room at the Neemrana Fort and was met by their chauffeured car at the railway station.

The Neemrana Fort came highly recommended as it was a part of a large group of hotels across the country. The hotel was everything I had hoped for and more! As a renovated fort the hotel had managed to keep most of the essential charms of the fort while at the same time bringing about a few changes that modern guests would prefer. The gardens at the hotel were well-manicured and greatly appealed to the nature lover in me. From my room I had a spectacular view of the city and all of its historical sites.

I spent most of my time exploring the ruins and palaces of the city and learning of their glories from history books as best as I could. In my spare time I would visit the hotel’s in-house spa where I would discard all my bodily tensions and relax. There was also an in-house restaurant at the hotel that would serve only the best and most delicious dishes from the local cuisine. These meals to me where the highlight of the trip and I would do anything to have just one more bite!

"Hi there, my name is Lalit Chandran. I currently reside in ‘Pink city’ i.e. Jaipur where I run a garment export business. Having spent all my childhood in Rajasthan, I fell in love with Indian history and all its glory. So, whenever I get an opportunity, I travel to various places all across India exploring old cities, museums, forts and historic monuments. This blog will catalogue all the places I have visited, people I have met along the way and different cultures I got a chance to experience.

I am hoping sharing all my adventures will help raise awareness about our ancient heritage and maybe help preserve and protect these remnants  of India’s glorious past. Feel free to leave your comments. "
